Mark 11:23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
LET’S TALK
When you read Genesis 1, you’d find God brought order to a formerly chaotic world through the power of speech, revealing what you can, and are supposed to do with words. You’re made in God’s image and likeness. Therefore, if you think there’s darkness in any area of your life, proclaim the Word. The Word of God is light, and as you speak, the light of God will manifest and completely obliterate the darkness.
Your mouth is what controls and determines everything else about your life and destiny. You’re what you say; your words locate you and determine your destiny. Jesus said: “You shall have what you say” (Mark 11:23). Proverbs 18:21 says, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose” (MSG). Whether you live or die depends on your mouth, the words you speak. The Lord Jesus affirmed the same thing. He said, “…By your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:37 NIV).
The primary reason God gave you your mouth is to steer your life in God’s direction for you—it wasn’t given to you for just eating and drinking. Today, you’re either doing excellently at school, enjoying divine health, and living in abundance, or flunking school, getting ill, and living poorly as a result of the words you’ve been speaking.
The Bible says, “Kind words heal and help; cutting words wound and maim” (Proverbs 15:4 MSG). 1 Peter 3:10 NASB declares, “…the one who desires life, to love and see good days, must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.” It’s that simple: you can have a great life and enjoy your days in God’s blessings and goodness continuously if you’d just use your tongue God’s way. It’s about what you say!

Dear Father, I thank you for the gift and power of speech. My life is beautiful, excellent and full of glory. My words are wholesome because I’m taught by the Spirit to speak life and wisdom all the time. I’m fulfilling your purpose for my life gloriously, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
