ASSURANCE AMID ANXIETIES (Cheer Up: You Have Victory Over Life’s Trials And Circumstances)
Pastor Chris
TO THE BIBLE
John 16:33 TLB “I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.”
LET’S TALK
Katie was getting a bit worried as she hurried down the hall towards the computer room in her school. Her laptop had been acting up, and she had to submit an assignment in less than two hours. She got there and spoke to Jason, the “IT Guy,” who took a glance at it, pressed a few buttons, and then said, “Nothing to worry about; it’s just a minor issue. I’d have it working again for you in about ten minutes.” Hearing this, Katie sighed with a huge sense of relief and all her anxiety disappeared.
This is just like the kind of assurance Jesus gives in John 16:33. He said, “…Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”Such powerful, comforting and uplifting words! In the midst of daunting trials, temptations, troubles, persecution and hatred, He wants you to be of good cheer, because everything is going to be alright. Never allow anxiety or sadness into your life as a result of whatever situation you may be going through. You’re a victor in Christ Jesus!
Even when things don’t seem to be going right, be unflustered (James 1:2 GNB). That challenge or trial is for your promotion and testimony. You live on the mountaintop, because you’re seated together with Christ in the place of glory and dominion. Therefore, you can live above these distressing, turbulent times. Christ has made you a master over circumstances, and now, He wants you to display extraordinary courage in fulfilling His dream for you.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything…” (NIV). It makes no difference what’s going on; don’t lose your cool! It’s been written about you already that you won: “For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). You’re an overcomer, and your future is greater than your past!

Speak
God has separated me from the world and given me a life that’s beyond this world: it’s a life of faith and victory through the Word. I live victoriously and triumphantly above sickness, disease, and terror. I’m more than a conqueror because greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. Hallelujah!
