“YOU DREAMT ABOUT ME?”
(God Doesn’t Lead His Children With Dreams)

TO THE BIBLE
Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

LET’S TALK
In the New Testament, God doesn’t lead us through dreams. The Bible doesn’t say, “For as many as are led by dreams, they are the sons of God”; rather, it says, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God….” “How about Acts 2:17?” you ask. “Doesn’t it indicate that God still leads through dreams?” No; He doesn’t. When Acts 2:17 says, “…it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh…your old men shall dream dreams”; dreams were for sense-led people. And if you ever have a dream, that’s a real message from the Lord, the focus would be on you; you’d be the theme of the dream, and not someone else.

Read Job 33:15-18 GNB and see what Elihu, the youngest of Job’s friends, said, “At night when people are asleep, God speaks in dreams and visions. He makes them listen to what he says…God speaks to make them stop their sinning and to save them from becoming proud. He will not let them be destroyed; he saves them from death itself.” That was for the Old Testament folks. It was about them, not other people. Some people believed a dream that someone else had about them, and started looking for “deliverance”; that’s silly. If you’re born again, God doesn’t send you a warning through someone else’s dream. Their dreams are about them and not you, so don’t fear their fears.

The Lord guides you through the written Word, and through His light in your spirit—the inward voice—and both should always agree with each other. He gives visions and diverse revelations, nonetheless, but not with other people’s dreams about you. He already said, “My sheep hear My voice…” (John 10:27). Therefore, don’t base your life on dreams of others about you. If you ever dream a dream that’s consistent with God’s plan for you, claim it in Jesus’ Name. Otherwise, throw it away and don’t dwell on it. Live on the Word and God’s provisions in Christ for you.
