Sinach!
Many people have done the cover of ‘waymaker’ by Sinach but the original song was written and sung by Sinach.
Interestingly, some of the covers, renditions or remixes have gained global popularity such that the original singer is difficult for some to trace.
The song has been covered by Michael W. Smith, Hillsong, Leeland, Bethel Music, Darlene Zschech, and over 20 top Gospel singers today and in more than 50 languages.
The original song was released on the 31st of December 2015.

Because of this song, Sinach has won several awards. Most of the awards came between 2020 and 2021 which is about 4 years after the song was released. Waymaker is not new but amazingly, God used it to elevate Sinach even when she most likely did not expect it.
How can you explain a song that became a global hit 4 years after it is released?
The lesson is clear, whatever God instructs you to do, do it.
The result you get immediately may not match the picture that God gave to you but don’t worry about it. If God has said a thing, it must surely come to pass.
I can imagine that God gave the song to Sinach and He told her that it was going to be sung in all nations. Imagine he said it will be a household song and Sincah is excited. First year, she releases it. Yes, it gets some good results but nothing close to what God showed to her. She may say “well, next year…everything will fall in place”. The second year passes, not much difference, by now she may be forgetting about it already. 3rd year, she has moved unto some other album, 4th year passed. 5th year, boom! There is a blast. ‘Waymaker’ is everywhere. Sung by babies, men, women of all nations.
So let’s all make up our minds to follow God and follow His instructions even when things don’t look exactly as He promised. Still hold on to His words, He will never let you down.
