(Refuse To Be Controlled By Wealth)
TO THE BIBLE: 1 Timothy 6:10 MSG
“Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after.”
LET’S TALK
“I’ve got to get those sneakers no matter what; even if it means stealing some money from Mom’s purse,” Andre thought.
Sadly, there are many young people like Andre today who, against their conscience, do the wrong thing to get money and the things it can buy. This inordinate desire for material wealth takes different forms in different societies; it may even be accepted as the norm in some, but it’s wrong.
As a child of God in such an environment, you’ve got to make up your mind to stand out and be different.
Others around you may be running after money and doing all kinds of terrible and unreasonable things for it, but you run after the wisdom of God instead: “Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold” (Proverbs 8:10). Go for wisdom, and don’t let money be your motivation.
Money is a tool for you to use. When you function in divine wisdom, money will, of necessity, come to you. That’s because money responds to wisdom.
Remember, it’s not what you have that counts; it’s who you are on the inside that really counts. So, develop your personality through the Word. Work on “being” and not on “having,” for with who you are, you’ll have.

Precious Father, I’m prosperous and successful in all things, because you’re with me. I’m guided by your wisdom, and your infallible truths are my delight and meditation! Thus, I have all that I require for a joyous, successful, and victorious life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
