Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional July 24th – Horoscopy—Not For You!

(Be Guided By God’s Word And Not By Horoscopes)

TO THE BIBLE: Isaiah 47:14-15 CEV
“People who trust the stars are as helpless as straw in a flaming fire. No one can even keep warm, sitting by a fire that feeds only on straw. These are the fortunetellers you have done business with all of your life. But they don’t know where they are going, and they can’t save you.”

LET’S TALK
There are Christians who see nothing wrong with the use of astrological predictions or the horoscope for their daily living. They regularly look up their “stars” on magazine and newspaper pages instead of paying attention to God’s Word. This is very wrong!

Our opening Scripture shows God’s attitude to astrology. He made it clear that the astrologers, stargazers and fortune-tellers wouldn’t be able to save the Jews from the wrath that was imminent on them at the time. Same thing today: you can’t receive any true guidance for your life through astrology.

Astrologers are those who study the arrangements of the celestial bodies—the various planets—and use them to foretell the future. Astrologers actually rob those who patronise them of their relationship with the Spirit of God. As a child of God, your life is not controlled by the planetary arrangements; your life and future are in God.

When you study the scriptures, you’d observe that God gave prophets to the children of Israel in the Old Testament to give them revelations through the Holy Spirit and His Word. He leads and guides us today through His Word and His Spirit that lives in us, not through the horoscope.

He doesn’t want you to try to look into the future by studying the planetary arrangements to know what your life holds; look into His Word.

Proverbs 4:20 says “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.” Realise that everything you’d ever need in life is in the Word, so go for it, and not for horoscopy.

Speak:
My life is a product of God’s Word; it’s preserved and sustained by the Word. I live by the Word today, therefore, I’m like a tree by the stream; I’m bearing fruits, and my leaves are continuously green to the glory of God. Hallelujah!
