LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! (You’re Acting Out A Script)
TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 10:7 MSG “…I’m here to do it your way, O God, the way it’s described in your Book.”
“Everyone, quiet down on the set! Camera guy, get into position!” the film director bellowed.
“Now, James, I hope you remember your lines because you’re to begin first!”
“We’re about to go live in five, four, three, two, one, action!” and the clapperboard went “Chap!”
I’m sure you’ve probably seen a similar behind-thescenes of your favourite movie and wondered how many times the actors had to take their lines before perfecting them. They weren’t supposed to add anything to the script handed to them, and as each actor followed his or her script—which had been prepared by the scriptwriter—he or she gave a wonderful, believable performance fit for screen viewing.
In the same way, we, as God’s children, have scripts to follow as our lives have been fully prearranged and predestined by the Lord; we’re acting out a script written by the best and greatest Scriptwriter of all time—the Holy Spirit. Glory! In many places in Scripture, referring to Jesus, you’d find statements such as, “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the Prophet” (Matthew 21:4). Jesus acted out the script that was already written about Him (Hebrews 10:7). It’s the same with us today.
Everything that happens to you, whether good or bad, isn’t an accident; there’s nothing happening to you today that’s a surprise to God. He fashioned all things to work out together for your good (Romans 8:28). There’s neither defeat nor failure in that script, and the script isn’t going to change. Simply play your role and not try to rewrite the script.
Don’t try to make God “do” something; He’s already done everything and given you everything you require for an excellent life. That’s what the script (His Word) shows. Live your life according to the Scriptures. Accept and declare what He’s said concerning you and you’d live a glorious, excellent life of purpose.
Ephesians 1:11; 1 Peter 2:9; Romans 8:29-30
I know who I am. I’m full of God by the Holy Spirit, doing the works which He planned for me ahead of time. I’m walking in His predestined path for me and in that path, there’s health, abundance, perpetual victory and perfection of all that concerns me. Amen.
